Compare Kahului, Maui to Other Major Cities Crimes

Crime comparison of Kahului, Maui vs. other major cities

Maui's crime statistics are considerably lower than the national average and by far much better than the other cities listed here. Being an island certainly has distinct advantages! We often say that "it's a small island." What we mean is that everyone pretty much knows everyone else, or is only one or two people removed from everyone else. An environment like that makes it hard to commit a crime and get away with it. Of course, our population is growing and with it the problems like drugs and robbery, but proportionally we are still a much safer community than Denver, San Diego, Portland or Seattle.
