Workforce Development University of Hawaii on Maui

In June 1996, the University of Hawaii Board of Regents selected Maui Community College as a University of Hawaii Center site. Maui residents can continue to live and work on Maui and access an expanding selection of Bachelors and Masters degrees. Classes are taught by professors on-site or over the Hawaii Interactive Television System (HITS) at Maui Community College. Programs are designed around work schedules. An average of 250 students are enrolled per semester.

The University of Hawaii Center at Maui is expanding its programs. In 1999, the University Center partnered with the University of Southern California School of Cinema and Television to bring courses in animation and film to Maui residents. These courses were taught by USC's faculty who have inspired many of the nation's great filmmakers.
